Tania Small, MD - Medical Affairs Executive and Patient Care Advocate

A New York-based physician with a global health care focus, Tania Small, MD, advocates for patient-driven science as a pathway toward equitable access. She delivered pediatric hematology and oncology care to patients at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she also performed bone marrow transplants. Dr. Tania Small next transitioned to corporate positions, such as senior medical director with Novartis.

As GSK’s vice president of global medical oncology, Dr. Small was part of the medical affairs division and built out the firm’s oncology therapeutic market. In 2017, she founded Beacon Medical Pathway, Inc., a company that she still guides as CEO. Since 2024, Dr. Small has engaged with Bristol Myers Squibb as head of global medical affairs, focusing on large-scale strategies for impacting health care and improving people’s lives.

Tania Small, MD, maintains a strong presence in her field and serves on the board of the American Cancer Society and the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs. As host of the doctoRx Unscripted podcast, she engages in meaningful conversations with researchers and clinicians on next-generation health care strategies.
